Hot Out of the Kiln

I have been spending a good deal of time working on some new pieces for the upcoming California Gift Show.It is a lot of work to prepare for a trade show, but I think it's going to be worth the work! While I was enameling away tonight I decided to take some photos of the process since I tend to get a lot of questions about what enamel is. 


A lot of people think that enamel is paint, but it is actually glass. There are different forms that it comes in, but I primarily use the powder form. Check out this photo of some pieces that have been sifted with powder enamel and are about to go into the kiln:

New Year, New Products

Pretty soon I will be rolling out some new products for the New Year and I am excited to share the process of creating something new with my wonderful readers!

For January, I am working on a new Picture Pendant Pattern (can't tell you what it is just yet!!) but I guarantee it will be quite a bit different from what is currently available and I am super excited about this one!

I will be rolling this design out at the California Gift Show, so if you are a store owner, please email me for details prior to the show and I can let you know what will be available!

Designing a new piece takes a lot of time and especially a lot of trial and error!  This week I will post some pictures of the process that I go through in designing pieces so that you can catch a little glimpse into my studio.

2011 is going to be great, I can just feel it!  With the approaching California Gift Show, the new products we are about to release online and events that we are looking forward to participating in this year, I am already excited and it is only Day 2 of the year!

Zedena Designs Mission Statement

Zedena Designs exists to provide unique, colorful jewelry and accessories for women of all styles.  As a designer, I try to create pieces that will work for any look and any budget to enhance the natural beauty within each of us.  Each piece of Zedena Designs is handcrafted to ensure that each piece is truly a one of a kind work of art.

This blog exists to allow my readers and customers the ability to see my creative vision, where I get my inspiration from, and for me to share events and products as I find them with all of you, my readers. 

For those of you who have know anything about Zedena Designs, you know that one of my main passions is creating enamel jewelry.  I kind of happened upon enamel when I was looking for a class to take at a local jewelry studio.  After creating my first piece I was hooked and the process just really clicked for me.  Since that time I learned a lot of the traditional techniques and experimented with a lot of techniques of my own. 

Just another day at the office!

My brand has evolved over time, and is of course still evolving.  

I would love to hear how those of you who have seen my brand grow see the products and where they are going.  If you have any comments or suggestions for this blog, or for new products, I would love to hear those as well. 

As I'm sure all of you know, my company could not exist if I didn't have supportive customers and so I value all of your feedback.

California Gift Show, Here we come (again!)

Zedena Designs is excited to announce that we will be participating in the California Gift Show again for January 2011.

Zedena Designs will be at Beckman's West, the handcrafted portion of the show.  Please check back soon for more details and be sure to contact us if you need info on registration and booth location!

2011 is Almost Here!

Can you believe that 2011 is almost here?   With the new year will come lots of great new things here at Zedena Designs.  First of all, you will notice our blog start to take more shape with updates at least once a week (hopefully even more!!)  New products are about to be launched, new stores announced, and many more features such as contests, events and more!

In preparation for these new changes, we would like to hear from you, our customers and readers!  Are there any product lines that are currently in the Zedena Designs collections that you would like to see expanded on such as new shapes or patterns in our Picture Perfect Enamel Jewelry? Any crystal colors you would like to see in our Filigrana line which features Genuine Swarovski crystals and hand antiqued filigree? Are there any local stores or boutiques in your area that you would like to see carry Zedena Designs?  Do you know of any great events that Zedena Designs should participate in?
